1) The Happening
2) Horror/ Thriller
3) 3.5/5

Plot
1) On a normal day the people of present day America are subjected to an unknown chemical causing them to go crazy and kill themselves. Elliot Moore, a high school science teacher, and his wife, Alma embark on an adventure of survival and mystery. "stay ahead of the wind."

Acting
1) A lot of the characters in this movie are not very realistic. However there are a few that stand out among the rest. Marc Whalbergs and Zooey Deschanels acting were by far the best in this movie.
2) There was really no stereotypical characters unless you count the ever present panicking civilian, if so then there was a lot of that.
3) No character in this movie was developed fully. I would have liked to know more about the plant farmers who lived by the power plant.
4) The only real acting came form Mark Whalberg Zooey Deschanels and Frank Collison. I say this because they are the only ones who seemed to really react to what was going on.

Musical Score/ Special Effects
1) The special effects, camara shots and music really added to the films intensity. The special effects really complements the film in the way that it just disturbes you. The music in this movie really sends shivers up your spine and scares you.
2) What stood out most for me was the music. It was just an amazing addition to the movies elements. James Howard Newtons peices really give you a sense of dread and suspense. i loved the music so much that i even downloaded the songs and put them on my ipod.

Final Comments
1) I would have to say if you enjoy being disturbed and enjoy great music and not mind the bad acting then by all means go watch this movie.
2) I would think people of the ages15+ would be intersested in giving this movie a go. Definately not something that a 10 to 13 year old should watch.
3) This movies strengths lay in the masterfull music, special effects and story telling. The movies weaknesses within the bad acting.
