The Heading:
1) Once
2)Romance/ Musical
3) Rating 4/5 Stars
Plot:
Once is about a heart-broken musician who befriends a talented pianist. Over the course of a week, they grow closer, and together they create incredible music. The duo then deals with the difficulties of an improbable romance.
Acting:
1) Yes, the characters are very realistic. The problems that the two main characters face are those of which people have to deal with every day.
2) The main male character is a stereotypical musician who writes songs about the girl who broke his heart.
3) The characters are developed pretty well. Throughout the movie, they both undergoe changes, and face their problems. How the characters deal with their problems can tell a lot about their personalities.
4)The actors were believable. They have not been in many films, and aren't huge Hollywood actors, but the acting was decent and they portrayed their characters well.
Special Effects, Cinematography, Musical Score, Camera Shots, Etc. :
1) I found the film to be very basic. There were no special effects, and the camera angles were pretty basic. However, since music is a huge theme in this movie, I think that the simplicity made the music stand out more.
2) The music in the film definately stood out for me. It was very catchy, and stood out because the rest of the film was very simple.
Final Comments:
1) I think if you enjoy a film that you can just relax while watching, I definately recommend it. It's very easy to follow, there's no critical thinking involved, and it doesn't have a lot of action that keeps you on the edge of your seat. However, if those are the movies you prefer, I don't think you would enjoy this movie very much.
2) I think that females would enjoy this film more, because they tend to enjoy the romance aspect of movies more than men do. However, it isn't overly romantic, but it's really cute and quirky.
3)I think that the simplicity of the film made it really easy to watch. The music was really good, and I think the Irish accents made it more entertaining. Howerever, I think the plot could have been more eventful.
