Name: Sunshine
Style: Science Fiction
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
PLOT
Humanities last hope is in the hands of 8 astronauts that are hurdling towards the sun. The sun is dieing and the only way to save it, is to launch a bomb into it to create a supernova, and hopefully reignite the Sun. The same mission that was attempted 7 years prior by a different crew of the Icarus I. Even though things go wrong and Religious views are threatening, the Icarus II is determined to succeed where the Prior crew had failed, and will do what it takes to Reignite the Sun.
ACTING:
The Characters really do act as if they are on an actual spaceship, and only see each other day after day for a number of years. Two stereo types that were present in the film were the Hero and the Coward. The Hero would do anything it takes to complete the mission and would put the mission and others before himself, while the coward only wanted the save himself, no matter what cost. Even though it never explained the characters life before the mission, you still have the feeling of knowing who they are. All the actors seemed to have been born for there part, everyone suited there own characters perfectly, from being the coward to the hero.
SPECIAL EFFECTS, CINEMATOGRAPHY, MUSIC SCORE, CAMERA SHOTS, EDITING, ETC:
There were quite a bit of special effects in this movie and all were up to par. Not one shot did I think it looked like a set or like computer animation. The camera angles worked well with the film but they were different in a good way. The music in this movie is simply amazing, may even be the best soundtrack I have ever heard. The music worked really well with each shot.
FINAL COMMENTS:
I think people of all ages should see this film, but this film is not for everyone. The way it is filmed and made is different from a lot of films being made to today, but is still a must see.
